Lime Prickly-Ash is a aromatic, prickly, evergreen shrub with small greenish-yellow flowers. Lime Prickly-Ash is a subdominant species commonly found in chaparral in the Rio Grande Plains and Coastal Prairie of South Texas. Lime Prickly-Ash grows in a variety of soils, from shallow rocky to deeper clays and sand. White-tailed deer browse on the foliage and stems. Many birds relish the seeds, including white-winged and mourning doves.
