Redseed Plantain is a low-growing annual forb found frequent on clay or heavier sands in prairies and openings in the Rio Grande Plains and Coastal Prairies. The leaves are consumed by white-tailed deer, cattle and the Texas tortoise. The seeds are preferred by bobwhite quail, white-winged and mourning doves. STN is currently in production of a release containing hooker's and redseed plantain.
