Javier Segovia is from Zapata, TX and has developed a passion for waterfowl and wetland management through his undergraduate career. Javier earned his BS in Range and Wildlife Management at Texas A&M University of Kingsville. Following graduation, Javier took a research position under the Mississippi flyway council on the Queen Maud bird sanctuary in Nunavut, Canada to study breeding light geese. In August 2023, he initiated a MS degree through the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute and department of rangeland and wildlife sciences at Texas A&M University of Kingsville to study the Non-breeding Ecology of Cackling Geese in the Lower Great Plains of North America.
