Parker grew up in Littleton, Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Zoology. He spent the next few years moving around the country, working an assortment of wildlife field jobs. He enjoyed learning about a variety of ecosystems before landing in Texas to pursue his master’s degree at TAMUK. His research is focused on wildlife community dynamics in connection with forest management in East Texas.
