Carter is from Wichita Fall, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor degree from University of Oklahoma in zoology. Carter joined CKWRI in 2011 as a master student and upon graduation has since stayed on to get his Ph D. He is currently researching Northern Bobwhite use of restored coastal bermudagrass pastures in South Texas.
