Darrion is from the small town of Seadrift, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University – Kingsville as an undergraduate where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Range and Wildlife Management. He is currently a graduate student with the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research institute where he is developing optimal survey methodology for wild turkeys to estimate populations more reliably. He is also creating Habitat Suitability Models to show what type of habitat turkeys prefer during winter in North Texas. He hopes to finish his Master’s degree in May of 2019.
