Lauren Fisher was born and raised in Central Texas, spending much of her childhood at the family ranch, working alongside her “physician-rancher” father to improve the land and appreciate the benefits of a life lived outdoors. She currently manages the ranch for her family.
Lauren and her husband brought that same passion to their own property in the Hill Country near Comfort, Texas. They share a devotion to the land, engaging in restoration projects to bring it closer to its original state, allowing wildlife, most specifically pollinators, to thrive. In keeping with this goal, the family has become involved with CKWRI’s Central Texas Native Seeds Program, enabling native plant restoration across this region.
She received her B.S. in Education from Texas A&M University and spent her teaching career focused on educating her students to appreciate the science of the world around them. She has served on numerous charitable and educational boards in San Antonio over the past thirty years.
Lauren and her husband Eric reside primarily in San Antonio, spending time with their two boys, Jack (TAMU class of ’21) and Andrew (TAMU class of ’26). She has a strong sense of adventure, having recently canoed the remote Lower Canyons of the Rio Grande for eleven days with her brother, unguided, and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro with her son Andrew this past summer.
