Ryan grew up in Richmond, MN, and received his Bachelor's degree in Biology with an emphasis on Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Minnesota State University Moorhead in spring of 2015.  Ryan is currently working towards a Master's degree in Range and Wildlife Management studying the effects of white-tailed deer density on antler growth and movements of bucks.
