
Glossary of Workday Terms
WorkDay is an all encompassing system-wide human resources module. It includes employee contact information, work and career history, payroll results, compensation, benefits, leave requests, performance evaluations and much more.
Here are some common WorkDay terms and what they mean:
- Costing Allocation: Indicates where an employee’s payroll expenses are charged (account and percent effort).
- Supervisory Organization: Groups workers under a manager. Listed as a team icon on your profile screen. (Profile can be found by clicking the cloud icon on upper right-hand corner).
- Business process: the steps, tasks and notifications that must be completed, the order of completion and who can do them for all actions.
- Task – An action/step that must be performed or completed in a business process.
- Most CKWRI graduate students are under my supervisory organization so that I can track any actions that are needed and to maintain a summary of available pin numbers.
- Inbox: Envelope icon: All items requiring action are in this box – Can also be found on your home screen.
- Check your WorkDay regularly.
