Spanish Dagger is a tree-like evergreen plant with a simple trunk or with a few stout, spreading branches at the top.  Spanish Dagger is a minor, thinly scattered component commonly found throughout South Texas in all soil types, habitats, and plant associations.  White-tailed deer browse the blooms and, along with cattle, also the leaves.
